WHO WE ARE

At CC, we reflect Jesus in 5 primary ways. These core values define who we are and inspire how we live as the people of God together.

HIS GRACE

Our identity is found in Jesus. When we were hurting, broken, and lost, Jesus reached out to us. He adopted us, calling us sons & daughters, and has made us new creations! In the midst of the brokenness of our world, we live in the glorious reality that we are children of the King! Grace informs us that God’s love for us is unconditional. Whether we succeed or fail, sin or stay pure, we cannot do anything to gain God’s love, or lose it. We are a people marked, not by what we’ve done, but what Jesus has done on our behalf. Grace brings us security and peace that motivates Christians to live-out the Gospel, serving God in joy and delight, rather than fear and bondage.

(Ephesians 1:5-6, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Romans 8:16-17, Romans 5:1-2, Titus 2:11-12)

HIS COMMUNITY

At CC we believe God has chosen and called a “people” for Himself, and not merely individuals. God has reconciled us to Himself and to each other, that He might be glorified in the fullest. As much as we love our corporate gatherings, true community happens as we share life together. We are a church of community groups, gathering weekly throughout the city to share life, grow in Christ, and make disciples of Jesus.

(1 Peter 2:9, Ephesians 2:13-17)

his Word + Spirit

CC is founded on the Word of God (the Bible) and the empowering presence of God (the Holy Spirit). We are immensely grateful for the truth of the Word that instructs and equips us in life. We also see in the Word that God’s empowering presence is what enables us to walk in new life and produces good works in us.

(2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Corinthians 3:17-18, Galatians 5:22)

His Mission

CC exists, not for itself, but for the mission and purposes of Jesus. We are called to bless the city of Corvallis and its people. We do this by serving the city and proclaiming and living-out the Gospel of Jesus. God has been writing a great story of restoration and redemption throughout history, and we have been graciously invited to play a role, co-laboring with Christ here in Corvallis.

(Matthew 28:18-20, Genesis 12:2, 1 Corinthians 3:9)

His Glory

At CC, everything we do is for God and from God. We are inescapably, a people of worship and prayer. We love to express our joy and delight in God through worship; celebrating who He is and what He’s done. We worship God not only by remembering what He has done, but also in seeking Him and His will. Prayer is a vital part of our relationship with God. We see Jesus continually seeking the Father’s will and we are invited to do the same. CC is committed to rely upon God through prayer, and to glorify Him in worship, that we might see the glory of Jesus saturate all that we do.

(Isaiah 43:7, Psalm 67:4-5, Matthew 6:9-13, Colossians 1:18)
